Old Fort Players (OFP) is Fort Madison's cherished community theater, dedicated to bringing the magic of live performance to our local stage. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

For over 40 years, Old Fort Players has been a cornerstone of Fort Madison's cultural landscape. Originally founded as a dedicated group performing in various locations around the community in 1980, we delighted audiences with our first official show in 1981. We later established our cherished permanent home at 725 Avenue G in 1993. Since then, we've nurtured generations of local talent and brought everything from classic dramas to lively musicals to our stage, embodying the rich artistic spirit that defines our town.
More than just a venue for entertainment, Old Fort Players is a vital hub where our community connects through the power of the performing arts. We pride ourselves on celebrating local talent, providing a welcoming space for all ages to explore their creativity, both on and off stage. Our volunteers, from actors to set builders, ushers, and board members, are the heart and soul of everything we do, making every production and event a true community effort.

Like many beloved community arts organizations, Old Fort Players has faced significant challenges in recent years. However, with renewed energy and the incredible support of our community, we are actively revitalizing our theater to ensure its bright future. We're excited about a host of fun, new events and programs in the works, all designed to bring more laughter, connection, and lasting memories to our stage. Our goal is to expand our reach, engage new audiences, and continue to be a vibrant center for creativity in Fort Madison for generations to come.
Old Fort Players thrives because of passionate people like you. Your support is more vital than ever to keep our curtains up!
